In the wake of his decision to cancel the North Carolina show in an effort to condemn the controversial “Bathroom Bill”, Bruce Springsteen has received a lot of praise from his fellow stars in the last few days. Miley Cyrus and Melissa McCarthy are the latest celebrities who have openly praised the decision of their fellow star on Saturday.
Although Bruce was due to perform in North Carolina on Sunday, the star took to Twitter on Friday to announce his decision of returning back from his decision. The Boss said in his tweet that he decided to cancel his gig in an effort to record his protest over a newly enforced law in the state.
Dubbed as the “bathroom bill” by its critics, this law has made it compulsory for the transgender residents of the state to use the gender-prescribed bathrooms. Although the bill has been enforced, Gawker reported on Thursday that it has pushed the State’s Cops into bewilderment as they have no idea on how to enforce it.
While Miley Cyrus and Melissa McCarthy are the prominent faces to come out in their criticism of the bill, there have been other names – like the South Carolina Governor, who have come out against the proposed bill.
The decision of the outspoken Miley Cyrus to come out in support of the Singer wasn’t a bolt from the blue. The outspoken singer is an LGBT rights supporters and she took it to Instagram to show harmony with The Boss.
Meanwhile for McCarthy, she wrote on Twitter, “One more incredible reason to love Bruce Springsteen. Your integrity is inspiring! From one boss to another @springsteen thank you for NC!”
Also sharing their support to Bruce were the likes of Alan Cumming who wrote “Bravo Bruce” on his twitter account.
Meanwhile, Actor Colin Hanks wasn’t further behind with his praise of the singer. “Somehow, giving Bruce Springsteen the title ‘singer-songwriter’ doesn’t quite seem like enough,”
Also shifting his weight behind the Singer was the Frozen Star Josh Gad who thanked Bruce on his Twitter account.
