Being a parent and that too for the first time, is something extremely difficult. Moreover, no book on baby parenting can make your life easier, but your own experiences. For the first few months, you cannot even expect to get a full night’s sleep because parents have to sleep with their babies for their security, of course. However, this is a dangerous practice, which leads to infant deaths in many countries.

If you cannot think of any solution to this problem, leave it to Temple University Hospital of Philadelphia. They have come up with a baby box for infants, in which you can leave your baby to sleep. Sounds scary? No, it’s not. The hospital is giving free baby boxes worth $80-$100 to new parents in order to encourage safe practices of sleeping. The box embraces all basic supplies, blankets and firm mattress pads. The box may not consist of whistles and bells of conventional cribs, but it is indeed safe. For people with modest income, or women who gave birth to pre-mature child, these boxes are a boon.

Since you and your spouse sleep with your baby in bed with all good intentions, it may pose a risk to your baby’s life. According to doctors, your baby should sleep on their own. If you develop habit of sleeping alone in your baby at an early stage, they would enjoy better health throughout their lives.
