At the start of his three-day visit to the United Kingdom, President Barack Obama delivered a clear message to the World of what he thinks about the Brexit campaign.

While the UK Public will go to referendum regarding their relationship with EU in June, the US President advised the UK Nationals to stay with the European Union.

Barack Obama’s comments have come at a time when anti-Europe campaigners have been campaigning in full swing in the UK. So when the US President is extremely popular in Britain, Obama took full advantage of it by openly speaking against the ‘Leave’ campaign.

He said that while leaving the EU will be a bad step for the United Kingdom, it will also be against the national interests of the USA at a time when the world is already facing a severe crisis in more than one ways.

Apart from speaking in a friendly tone, Obama also gave a slight threat to the UK Public that the United Kingdom can be a less valuable ally for the United States if they decide to vote against the European Union.

The British public was hoping that even if they decide to vote against the EU, they will strike a profitable financial deal with the US which will compensate their tariff-free access to the European Markets.

However, Obama clearly stated that in the case of leaving the European Union, the United Kingdom ‘is going to be in the back of the queue’ regarding their financial transactions with the US.

Talking to a news conference alongside British PM David Cameroon, Obama said,

‘’The United Kingdom is at its best when it is helping to lead a strong Europe. It leverages UK power to be part of the European Union.

I think it is fair to say that maybe some point down the line, there might be a U.K.-U.S. trade agreement but it is not going to happen anytime soon’’.
