In its effort to indicate its human nature, HP Announced last week that it is planning to auction its 18k Gold Laptop. Having a 13.3-inch edge to edge screen which is protected with a Gorilla Glass, the device also shares the accolade of being the World’s thinnest laptop.

While it revealed previously that HP Spectre would be the World’s thinnest laptop ever, HP increased the stakes by revealing that a limited edition of the laptop would be bedazzled with diamonds. This was revealed at the New York International Luxury Conference last week.

The Tech Giants also claimed that they have hired the services of designer Jess Hannah to create its new machine with a lavish 18k Gold.

While the Interior of the Laptop would be exactly the same as its 13.3” counterpart, it is the exterior where HP have innovated luxuriously. In fact, the Power button has been coated with diamonds in order to give it a more sparkling look.

The whole keyboard has been given a gold plate coating in order to distinguish it from the power button. Meanwhile, the Logo of HP which is usually engraved on the back side of its Laptops is also covered with Diamonds.

In addition to Jess Hannah, HP also hired the services of London-based designer Tord Boontje. Mr. Boontje has collaborated with Hannah in order to make fantasized designs all across the laptop.

While the Laptop would be auctioned in May, HP has already announced of where they plan to spend its money. The Company has said that it will support the Nelson Mandela Foundation which is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in South Africa.

The Organization is viewed very highly throughout the globe as many consider it as the legacy that Mr. Mandela left behind after his sad demise last year.
