Manuel Pellegrini: I won’t take a Sabbatical after leaving Manchester City

Ahead of his exit from Manchester City in the coming summer, Chilean Manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that he won’t be taking a sabbatical after leaving the Manchester City hot-seat.

The former Real Madrid manager was talking to the press ahead of his team’s crunch fixture against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

Coming into this Sunday’s fixture against Arsenal, the Citizens are on an average run of form. In addition to being knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, the domestic form has also failed to soothe the nerves of the Manchester City faithful.

Thus, with just 1 win in the last 3 games, pressure is now on Manuel Pellegrini to finish the season on a strong note.

The pressure has also been compounded by the chasing game of Manchester United. The Red devils are level on points with Manchester City however sit 1-place below them due to smaller goal difference.

Thus, with the bargaining leverage now emaciating, Manchester City have no chance but to win all its remaining games in order to be in the Champions League next season. After Sunday’s fixture against Arsenal, the Citizens will travel to the Liberty Stadium on the penultimate day of this season.

So, with pressure mounting on him and his team, Manuel Pellegrini faced some terse questions from the world media on Saturday. However, as suggested by his clam demeanor on the pitch, the Chilean was somber in answering tough questions from the World media.

“The first option is to continue working immediately,” the Chilean manager said. “I love this profession. I’m sure I can be a top manager for a lot more years.

“I’m not tired. I don’t suffer with the pressure, I like it. I like it because it [drives you on] much more every day.

“If I continue in England with a team that has a project which is competitive, it is a very important option.

“If I have to go to another important league in Europe with an important project with a big team, also of course it is an option.
