Hong Kong is the name of the boy who is just too young to understand his rare physical condition. He was born in a poor family in China with congenital condition called polydactylism, which affects not only humans, but also cats and dogs. Normally, people who have this condition are born with one or two extra digits, but the case of Hong Kong is extremely severe.

It is out of question for the family to raise funds on their own for their son’s surgery, which would cost around $30,000. Therefore, they have turned to the Crowdfunding platforms to seek donations. However, the mixed reactions that they received about raising money online, they have stopped their endeavor after raising $6,000.

The 16 toes, 15 fingers and 2 palms of Hong Kong will make life difficult for him if he is not treated. However, even the surgery is not so simple. His limbs would have to rebuild all over and his opposing thumbs would have to be reconstructed to enable him pick up things. Until the time, the couple is not able to get their son operated; they are seeking advice from doctors on how to take care of their son.

Doctors say that the boy is too young to be operated. They have to wait for a few more months. When Hong Kong is between 6-months to 1 year, the doctors may consider his surgery. It is interesting to know that Hong Kong is not the only child born with multiple digits. The maximum toes and fingers were found with a person named Akshat Saxena in India in the year 2010, who had 20 toes and 14 fingers.
